A little rain and fog didn’t stop over 150 cycling enthusiasts from coming out to participate in, and support the WCA JoinTheRide Tour at The Pedaler’s Fork in Calabasas, CA on Sunday, March 2, 2014. Cycling fans were able to ride along with some of their favorite pro cyclists from the women’s and men’s pro peloton, including WCA Board President Robin Farina, and WCA board members, TWENTY16 team member, Alison Tetrick and the entire TWENTY16 Team, Olivia Dillon, Colavita/Fine Cooking, Laura Van Gilder, MellowMushroom, Tayler Wiles, Specialized Lululemon, Kendall Ryan, Kristabel “Tink” DH and, Kelli Samuelson and the Ritte Women’s Team. The group ride was open to both women and men, and riders of all levels. Participants enjoyed food and drink after the ride courtesy of The Pedaler’s Fork and New Belgium Brewing company. Lucky participants won an array of door prizes donated by SRAM, 10 Speed Coffee, Osmos, Golden Saddle Cyclery, Incycle, Mission Workshop, Giro, and Chris King. The Amgen Tour of California Street Team was also on hand with prizes and giveaways, as the Amgen Tour of California has just added a second day of women’s cycling competition to the 2014 race. Nick Kova from Nick Kova Photography captured all the highlights of the day along with Brian Hodes from Velo Images.
The WCA also unveiled the final design of the inaugural WCA Kit on Sunday. The initial design was submitted by Lindsay Platoshyn who won the WCA Kit design contest in January. The WCA has since worked with Primal Wear for the final design and kit production.. WCA kits will be available to purchase online through the WCA website beginning mid-March.
