The WCA is hosting a number of events to celebrate women’s cycling, leading up to and during, the Amgen Tour of California Women’s Race Empowered with SRAM, including “Join The Ride Tour” South Lake Tahoe.
Join the WCA and Olympians and cycling legends, Dotsie Bausch and Inga Thompson, on Saturday, May 9th at 8AM for a group ride on the Amgen Tour of California Women’s Race Course around beautiful Lake Tahoe. Experience the same twisting descents, fast straights, and stunning views as the pros will. Registration starts at 7:15AM. This event is FREE and open to all!

The WCA kicked off 2014 in high gear with our first JoinTheRide Tour Powered by Team Specialized-Lululemon on Saturday, Jan. 26 in San Luis Obispo, CA. Fairfax, CA—For Release December 10, 2013—The Women’s Cycling Association (WCA) will host a Bay Area Open Group Ride and membership drive this Sunday, December 15th at 10AM from Java Hut, located at 760 Center Blvd Fairfax, CA. The group ride is open to both men and women and will be led by women from the professional peloton. WCA Board President and Now and Novartis for MS team member, Robin Farina, as well as WCA board members Alison Tetrick (Exergy TWENTY16) and Olivia Dillon (Now and Novartis for MS) will lead the ride along with other pro women cyclists including Tayler Wiles (Specialized Lululemon) and Liza Rachetto (Vanderkitten). Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the WCA and become a member to support the WCA’s mission to elevate women’s cycling. The ride will include both a 60- mile and a 40- mile option. Prior to the ride, participants can visit http://tinyurl.com/wcaride to complete the ride waiver.

This ride is the latest event hosted by the WCA. Since the launch in August, the WCA is gaining momentum and support. The WCA was formally introduced to Race Promoters and Team Directors at the USA Cycling Annual Summit recently held in Winston-Salem, NC and is supporting the Tour de Park City, which gained NRC Status for Women for their August 2, 2014 race.
