LOS ANGELES (July 14, 2015) – Universal Sports Network presents exclusive LIVE coverage of La Course by Le Tour de France on Sunday, July 26, at 8 a.m. ET. The one-day, elite women’s cycling race will finish on the famed Champs-Elysées prior to the finale of this year’s final stage of the Tour de France.

Twenty top women’s teams featuring 120 athletes from 12 countries will compete in the second edition of La Course by Le Tour de France. With reigning champion Marianne Vos (Rabo-liv) skipping this year’s race, a new winner will be crowned. Riders scheduled to compete include Americans Shelly Olds (Ale Cipollini), who finished third in 2014, and Megan Guarnier (Boels Dolmans), and England’s Lizzie Armistead (Boels Dolmans).

The Universal Sports broadcast team will feature veteran play-by-play announcer Craig Hummer alongside analysts Todd Gogulski, who spent more than a decade racing professionally, and Dotsie Bausch, a 2012 Olympic medalist in track cycling.

Winston-Salem, NC – For Release June 25, 2015 –The Women’s Cycling Association applauds the recent announcement of the newly elected athletes to the revamped UCI Athletes’ Commission, and is excited to learn that two WCA Board of Director Vice Presidents have been voted to the 13 member commission by their peers – 2014 Dutch Road Champion, Iris Slappendel, and, 2012 Cross County MTB Olympic Bronze Medalist, Georgia Gould! Olympic Cyclists Join WCA Board of Directors, WCA speaks out on position of UCI in regards to women’s pro cycling

Pro Cyclist and WCA President, Robin Farina will join other pros and avid cyclists for the first ever All-Female Trois Etapes Tour de France Team

Winston-Salem, NC – For Release July 11, 2014 – The Women’s Cycling Association (WCA) is joining forces with World Bicycle Relief (WBR) to create the first ever all-female team to take on the Trois Etapes Tour de France, with a goal to raise funds to mobilize women in rural Africa and promote women’s cycling around the world. On August 7-10, Pro Cyclist and WCA President, Robin Farina, will join a team of women pros as well as avid cyclists to tackle some of the most grueling climbs of the Grand Tour in the French Pyrenees.

The all-female team will be led by Evelyn Stevens of Specialized-lululemon and Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio of Hitec Products. Other team members include:
• Chrissie Wellington, Four-time Ironman World Champion, legend in the endurance world, and a key player for Le Tour Entier and La Course;
• Robin Farina, Professional cyclist and President of the Women’s Cycling Association, a nonprofit that advocates for the development of women’s cycling equitably and sustainably;
• Jill Gass, Coach at B9T9, a women’s cycling team from Santa Barbara, CA;
• Vicki Ford, Endurance triathlete and cyclist from Austin, TX;
• Heidi Wood, Elite cyclo-cross racer and avid road cyclist from Seattle, WA;

Women’s Cycling Association Inaugural Kit on Sale Now

Winston-Salem, NC – For Release March 11, 2014 – The Women’s Cycling Association (WCA) announced today their inaugural Kit is available for purchase via the WCA website through Midnight March 31, 2014. In January, the WCA held a Kit Design contest for Face Book fans to submit a design for the inaugural kit. Fans then voted on the entries. Lindsay Platoshyn’s unique design was the overwhelming favorite! Lindsay is a freelance designer in the South Bay area and her goal was to design a kit that would, “stand out in the crowd, so that when people saw it, they would ask about the WCA.” The WCA chose Primal Custom to create the final design, kit production, and fulfillment. The kit is available in both women and men specific Helix Elite and Sport Cut styles. See subsequent page for Primal Custom style descriptions.

The kit features a bold black and white geometric pattern contrasted with the bright vivacious teal, orange and yellow-gold colors of the WCA. The jersey highlights the WCA logo on the front right panel inset within a vertical stripe using WCA colors, on both sleeves, and on the back top panel inset within a WCA three color horizontal stripe. The jersey also features a teal collar with the WCA logo and tagline, “Join The Ride.” The grey and black bib features the WCA logo on the shorts side panel against the black and white geometric design, and on the back short panel.
